I Keep Hoping

I blog surf daily. I check out new blogs from the never ending list posted on each blog. I comment a LOT on blogs but don't seem to have many followers or comments. A few faithful that I truly appreciate! I guess I'm feeling a little down about my blog. I have a lot more to share and after photos to post. I'm wondering what I can do to help my blog grow. Any suggestions?

  1. Hi Lynn,
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a great comment. I appreciate it. It does take a long time to get a lot of followers but you have to blog because you love it and not focus on how many followers/comments you have. It will drive you nuts if you do. Having said that, some of the best ways to attract traffic are to participate in link parties (be sure you follow their rules). I see you have a lot of great recipes and there are a lot big recipe linky parties and well as others. That will get people to see your blog. Visit others' blogs as you have, leave comments, reply to comments you get and develop blog friendships. Donna@FunkyJunkInteriors has a series of posts on how to build your blog. Good luck and just enjoy it!

  2. Don't be hard on yourself. It took me forever to get comments! I mean like only a few for the first six months.

  3. I think you need to post what you want, satisfy yourself, and eventually people that appreciate what you are doing will come. I completely understant though - it is hard not to focus on the "follower" thing. I also agree with what Gina said, it does help to post on the link parties. give it a try and see what happens and good luck.(-:

  4. Yes, do parties and really stop caring. I felt like you did, and just stopped caring... In this last month I have probably gained about 20 followers, so go figure. I agree, do what makes you happy, people appreciate honesty and sincerity. And if you only get a small number of followers, at least know that someone out there likes what you have to offer! Post those pics, that's what will draw people to you, have fun and be positive, you can do it!!! :)

  6. I just found your blog on someone else's blog roll...let me see whose was it? Ah! it was Lindy at Cottage Hill. (I just only recently found her blog)
I've been away from blogging about 5-1/2 to 6 mos. And about ONE YEAR ago I switched my blog from a different URL-- long story, but I lost some bloggers that way. Many of my followers indeed did follow me to my new URL; but it has been slow getting my followers back up.
But like suggested already- you have to get past that numbers thing, and blog how you like.
For me-- I'm all over the place I don't 'a-thing' to call my own. I just blog whatever the mood strikes.
I personally think if you have your own thing that helps. Decor advice, frugal shopping, sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking, etc...there's lots out there. Find your thing and write about it!
Glad I found your blog. Oh, what got my attention- the title.
Honey is what my grandkids call my Hubby!
